Hello,

as I had to face the same problem just a couple of weeks ago, the final
approach I took was putting together a very simple bootstrapper in the AutoIt
scripting language. Nothing fancy, it is a Setup.exe that checks for .NET 2.0
and SP1 in my case, downloads and executes them from a known location, then
downloads the actual MSI and launches it. In a distributed media scenario (eg.
all files on a CD) it is even simpler because there is no need to download
anything.

Bye,
   Gábor
