You should always change component and product codes when redoing the package. Your best bet would be to isntall the Windows Installer SDK which is part of the Windows SDK. The documentation gives you several rules when you need to change the product codes.
I've used InstallShield upto version 9.0, some things drove me crazy about it. I though by 12 some things have gotton better. I'd love to here what you think about the new version.
