Hi: Is there currently a way within windows installer/wix to allow a user to mark a component/feature downloadable during installation? If yes how is this done? If no I'd be interested in writing an extension to do this, as far as I can see this would require: 1. a ca to do he downloading/decompression. 2. an extension to either the file table or an entirely new table, is this legal in Wix/windows installer? 3. A new element in the xml syntax, how is this done? Any opne any thoughts, I need the download functionality for a project I'm working on. Cheers Sean.
