Dear List,
Why is it that custom action return code ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE always causes a
message containing "Your system has not been modified" to be displayed? It
seems that this is always displayed for this return code, please correct me if
you know that this is not so. In certain cases when this statement is true,
having it is useful, but I have a scenario in which the statement is not true
at all, so I cannot allow this to be displayed to avoid confusing people. The
simplest way I see is if an alternative return code such as
ERROR_MODIFIED_INSTALL_FAILURE existed, but it doesn't seem to exist.
