I have the same/similar problem. It's odd in that it was working fine on my machine (and then for other reasons) when I had to reimage it and now it's not working. When I just have a WIX project in the solution I cannot see the project, but if I add another project such as a console app I can see both of them. This isn't a terribly big deal for me as my main WIX project is part of a larger solution but I noticed it when downloading sample WIX tutorial projects.
I haven't tried the reinstall yet.
