I am defining them in a WXI file using the <?define?>
preprocessor construct. They are then referenced in one or more WXS
files (each WiX project are broken into multiple WXS files). Should I
be using a different method?

Where are you defining the preprocessor variables you would like to have
access to in the pre and post build steps? In the wixproj file? in a

Everyone,
I am currently using WiX v3.0.2925.0. I have a few projects
that use local preprocessor variables. I may need to pass one or more
of these on to pre- and post-build steps in Visual Studio 2005. So far
I have been unable to do so. From reading the documentation, there are
WiX variables that can be passed as far as I can tell. However, it does
not seem that user-created preprocessor variables can be passed with the
version of WiX v3 that I am using (that or I am not reading the
documentation closely enough). Is there a way to do so, and does it
require a more recent build of WiX v3? Thank you for your time.
