Ok, after I found a way to enable logging when coming from "Add/Remove Programs" (see at the end), I was able to see that indeed AppSearch runs and sets the properties allright. However the features conditioned by those properties remained switched off. I now found the reason: as it happens those features do not yet contain any components! So MSI just switches them off in maintenance mode. I can understand this logic. But then why not do the same in install mode? Thanks, Mark P.S.
