The following reasons are my reason: * It is free * It is open-source so if there is a big problem that I need fixed NOW I can invest the time/money to fix it * It is being used by Microsoft's largest products => well tested * It is just a bunch of command line tools => much nicer build process. I'm not on the inside (of Microsoft) but from my understanding Microsoft Office and Visual Studio are both using WiX for installers (someone correct me if I'm wrong here!).
