I think you've got the Vista variation of this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905238/en-us because SxS installs on Vista are treated the same general way.

The messages seem OK, since in fact the libraries are already present. The problem is that as part of the major upgrade the libraries get removed when it uninstalls the previous version of my product and then they never get reinstalled. The end result is that the application fails to run because the MFC and runtime libraries are missing. If the user does a repair installation, the libraries are restored and then everything is OK.
