Yeah, I agree that MSDN article really doesn't say much about how to do
it... I should probably have read it better before passing on the URL,
it was just one of the early results in the Google search I did!

As far as the better bootstrapper is concerned, I believe that is part
of the vision for ClickThrough (part of the WiX 3 family). Of course,
since Rom and everyone else here have "day jobs" it may still be a while
before this is ready for prime time.

I also think the companies that produce Wise and InstallShield would say
that they have come up with products that handle bootstrapping
appropriately. :-) There are some readers of this mailing list who
(based on their personal experiences) would disagree!

As far as Jerome's question of "Why doesn't Windows installer support
bundling dependencies?" is concerned, I must admit it is one of the
things about Windows installer that amazes/bothers me too.
