Thanks for your comments, but with the single file, the patch is 3 times bigger when including whole files. When you factor in the other patching files from the real case (which all make much smaller binary differences) the final patch is closer to 4 times bigger.
Do you not think there's a bug in this somewhere or any better workaround?
