If WiX doesn't provide it today it is because nobody has contributed it. Remember, the WiX toolset is a volunteer community project. Everything you see here was built because someone thought it would be cool/fun/useful.
Note, I wouldn't be complaining here if you asked, "Why hasn't anyone contributed something like this? It seems like a bunch of you have already solved this problem and I would love to build on your work instead of starting over from scratch." I can give you two reasons why *I* haven't contributed it. 1. I've never needed it. 2.
