Hi, My name is Mark Knox, I work for a large UK college where my job is to ensure that the software that is needed by the student and staff is installed on the network. i found WIX when I needed to install a small program on the network with the capacity to remove it afterwards silently. As the program did not have an installer I needed to write on. WIX solved that problem.
Now my question. is there any examples of WIX code that will allow me to backup a file prior to replacing it, the filename and the backup file to be specified in code, also the backup file is to be in another directory. In addition, the file is only to be replaced if its size matches a known file size. Any help great fully received.
