For clarity. I should have added that when I ran evertyhing. I installed Error.msp which laid down my foobar file. When I applied the patch there were no updates to the Control Panel Add/Remove programs but the updated foobar file was installed.
When I de-installed Foobar from Add/Remove Programs then everything was removed. 'd have expected the Add/Remove Programs to either show an additional entry for Foobar 1.1 or the original entry updated to Foobar 1.1 and not left as Foobar 1.0.
