Just a little more info:
I irc:ed with the Ankh guys the other day and by "trial and horror" we found
out a little bit more about this problem.
- Ankh does not use the "standard" MSSCCI way, but uses automation for
integration (for reasoning, see

)
- they both play along nicely until one adds a reference to WixUIExtension
(haven't tried any other extensions)
- ankh fails with a 0x8002003 DISP_E_MEMBERNOTFOUND seemingly in
Microsoft.VisualStudio.Package.Automation.OAProjectItem`1.get_Kind()
it seems that the project item in question is the wixuiextension reference
item (since it provokes the error)
this seems to be the "conclusion" of the irc debugging session

implement that method, and we should probably stop calling it in the first

This is slightly off-topic, but I cannot seem to get AnkhSvn (subversion
provider for Visual studio) to play along nicely with a votive project.
Now, I don't know if this is due to Votive or Ankh? (latest v3 WiX and
latest Ankh)
If anyone has had any success in combining these two, I'd appreciate some
pointers :)
