Hi,
I realy don't know. It was a serios
question.
I need to install counter logs on win 2000, XP and
2003.
Currently I am using Save-Setting-As-Html to get the
html-<object> and New-Log-Settings-From to create the counter
log.
But thats all manual work which I want the installer to
do.
The html is just text which I could check in to my
source-control, but I haven't found a way to install it without using a
GUI.
It looks like WMI doesn't has an interface for counter logs
(WMI could be used by wix?).
I just had another look. The Counter Logs are stored here
in the registry:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysmonLog\Log
Queries
But just inserting the keys and values is probably not
enough and most likely will not start the Counter Logs.
I found a tool logman.exe for XP which does similar things
on the commandline, so there must be a way.
Has anyone an idea?

Mike Hi
all, Does anyone how to
install counter logs, not performance counters themself (perfmon.msc:
"Performance Logs and Alerts"->"Counter Logs")? Cheers, Mike |
