Documentation is lacking in WiX v3 for this kind of stuff. Extensions are much easier to use in WiX v3. Just use "-ext WixUtilExtension". None of that other stuff is necessary any more. Feel free to open a bug to fix up the light -? documentation and WiX.chm.

I'm sure this is just a simple training issue, or if it is somewhere in some documentation just point me there.
