Realistically, if Wix 3.0 was moved to .NET 2.0, it could still be used to build installers for .NET 1.1 application correct? In this case, I don't think that there would be much of an impact to any of the projects that I develop installers for. I guess that I could also continue to use Wix 2.0 to build installers for my existing 1.1 applications, which already use Wix 2.0.
I guess, what I am saying, is that there shouldn't be much of an impact on projects that I'm working on and I'm guessing others would be in the same scenario. I would actually like to have Wix 3.0 based on .NET 2.0, but mostly to make sure that I won't have the types of problems I had with earlier builds of Wix 2.0 not being able to read or recognize .NET 2.0 assemblies. -----Original message----- From: "Justin Rockwood" [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 13:20:31 -0700 To: wix-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [Spam] [WiX-users] RFC: Moving Wix 3.0 to use the .NET Framework 2.0 > There has been some talk on the core team about moving Wix 3.0 over to use > the .NET Framework 2.0 instead of 1.1.
