I have not used "Rebase if Necessary" yet, but in theory it sound better than chery-picking. However a quick googling found this bug for me: http://code.google.com/p/gerrit/issues/detail?id=2167 For now I would stick with cherry-pick until "Rebase if Necessary" matures and consider using it later.
