Charles,
Unwired www.unwiredltd.com has a SkyPilot implementation serving
residential areas of the East Bay (Oakland mainly).. They have used
aggressive downtilt on the SkyGateway units to keep out of other local
systems. The current SkyGateway may be unusable where a given channel is not
avail on a 360 degree basis, some people have resorted to shielding on sides
that must be blocked.

Subject: [BAWUG] Bay Area SkyPilot Implementations

Am looking at implementing a 100 AP SkyPilot network in El Paso, Texas.
Wondering about any increase in noise from SkyPilot in the Bay area? Also,
how did the wireless providers in the area allocate frequencies when
SkyPilot came to town. Any other comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles Barnes
