To quote Bob Keyes:
I am looking for APs that I can load linux/bsd onto, and then port RoofNet
to. Which means I need wifi devices supported by with madwifi or hostap. I
also am looking for APs with a fair amount of ram - 32mb is good, I am not
sure that 16mb can do it. 4mb of flash is probably the minimum, 8mb of
flash would be nice. So far I'd found the NetGear WGT634U Linksys WRT54GS
have 32mb/8mb, the former with Atheros chipset and the latter with Prism3.
Anything about either of these units I should know of? Or are there others
to add to this list?
The StarOS, in addition to software, also sells hardware. The hardware,
while
a little pricey, does tend to meet the minimum requirements you mentioned.
While it may not be what you are looking for, I do not think my link to the
StarOS web site by any means qualifies as "White Noise" as Cody Oliver seems
to think.
On the left side of their web site is a link that says Hardware. Click on it
and it will take you to this page: http://www.staros.com/prices.php
