Involving local government is fine, but I think it's necessary to have something to show them as a success, first.

Who would show up for a community meeting of some kind? What issues do
you want to see covered?
Long(ish) distance point-to-point? Connecting to an SFLAN node? Basic Windoze/client setup? Experimenting with NoCatAuth for a shared auth system? Linux routing? Antenna building/buying?
Sounds good. Personally, I'd like to see something on strategic planning and implementation
with the aim of engaging local government to help the growth of wi-fi.

I would be glad to know which is worst, to be ravished a hundred time by pirates, to have one buttock cut off, to run the gauntlet among the Bulgarians, to be whipped and hanged at an auto-da-fe, to be dissected, to be chained to an oar in a galley; and, in short, to experience all the miseries through which every one of us hath passed, or to remain here doing nothing?
