After using this 2Wire USB modem router model 1000s with the software ver. 3.5.5 (thru Yahoo SBC DSL)
with the Ethearel Sniffer, I realized that the router broadcasts ARP request every ~ 30 seconds 192.168.0.1 broadcast ARP request, who is 192.168.0.2, 3 ,4, .. 18 This will slow down the private network (no problem internet connection), so I call Tech-supp, SBC rep forward call to 2wire tier 1 (in India), then forward tier 2 (in U.S). The tech-supp tier 2, after worked with me and told me to change router config, the problem still have remain, then he told me that 2Wire designed to work that way for backup the backup, to keep connection between router and PCs alive. It's so odd. If anyone of you knows anyone in 2Wire, pass on the message please. I don't understand why they do that.
