Uh, you're kidding right? The kiddies on isp-wireless only recently
discovered NoCatAuth (along with the whole notion of captive portals),
let alone build Unix homegrown AP's (*gasp* We don't have to buy
Lonnie's software!). Furthermore, that list is soo full of childish
fights and fluff. Such a great example of legal law abiding citizens
and business owners they present themselves. As Russell already
mentioned, if you knew about it, why didn't you speak up?

As far as the Canopy's go, the external casing is very slick
<http://www.bawug.org/images/equipment/motorola/canopy/mot_canopy/>
(much sexier then any Pelican or Tupperware hack); but that's where the
innovation stops. Proprietary protocol, expensive, laughable
management' almost sounds like a radio (not a networking) company
designed it.. wait a minute! Don't get me wrong they're a nice start,
but way too expensive to ever solve the last mile dilemma. Though I
could see these used as an afford wireless backhaul (vs. Western Mux
gear).
