Hi there,

This is my first ever post on the BAWUG-list since I joined, so I better
present myself huh?! ;) So, my name's Henrik Leghissa, I'm 23 years old, a
half swedish / italian-slovenian boy living presently in Sweden. Work-wise
I'm running a business within the e-marketing, strategy and usability
fields. (Yepp, I know - it sounds pretty vague, but oh well... if anyone
wants to know more , he / she can contact me in private)

What more? Well, I am a musician - I play the drums and also write the
lyrics nowerdays for Twilight Symphony. If you're interested you can find
some older songs on http://www.mp3.com/twilightsymphony Our new material
will also be presented there as well, and the possibility to order our new
songs on cd will also be put up, as soon as we are done and happy with that
stuff! In short and basics, music is one of my neurotic passions here in
life! ;)

Okay, enough of that... I joined the BAWUG-list because I want to know more
about wireless networks, the technology behind them, the technology and
ethics connected with running these w-lans, what drives individuals to set
up free of charge hotspots. I think this is a great thing myself, though
where I live there are none like these, except for in the next town
university. I will of course open my AP for other people to use!!!!

I have some questions, the first one is for a friend of mine. She wants to
get some kind of Internet-connection where she lives, which is in the Glen
Park district in San Francisco. Yes, if you want to know how I know this
woman - please ask in private, okay?! :) So back to what I was saying; I
was telling her the different options, because she wants a "higher speed
than modem"-connection which either means; cable, dsl or wireless in her
case. The cable-version is probably out of the question, the dsl-connection
probably will be very expensive (she's a student still, so you can guess
how the money situation can be), so therefor I came to think about you guys
and the BWUG! (strange eh? hee) I now wonder if you can help me with this,
tell what to do, if there are any maps or similar that can show where the
hotspots are located in SF, and if it's possible for her to get connected.

I was up a whole night looking for different dsl isps for her count, and I
know wonder if you got some to recommend especially, I mean if the whole
wireless-thing is not possible to arrange some how. Please know that any
help is highly appreciated!!! Please answer my questions in private, when I
don't know how "on topic" this thread might become. I ask this when I don't
want to taint the main objectives of [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have another question about me setting up my first ever w-lan at my
parents house, though I will take this in a separate email, I don't want to
ask for "too much" here in the beginning!

Before I end this, my first ever email to the list, I want to tell you that
I've learned a lot from sitting here reading all you guys the posts to the
list!!!! Some of you guys have a cool sense of humor which I like!!!!

Thanks in advance, and have a lovely weekend!!!!

Greetings;
     Henrik
