FWIW, while this ticket calls out the 8192EU, my 8188EU was showing identical
symptoms. "was" because my internal "Alder Lake-P PCH CNVi WiFi" is now working
with iwlwifi, so I am not using the 8188EU any longer.
I can confirm that, when the 8188EU did a reset, only a cold reboot (power
down) would recover. Symptoms seem to be an exact match for those described in
this bug.
