Yes, it works, but you must download windump 3.8 beta. Stop any applications that are using the WinPcap library. 2. Remove the key HKLM/system/curentcontrolset/services/NPF from the Registry. 3. Remove the files packet.dll and wpcap.dll from WINNT/system32. 4. Remove the file npf.sys from WINNT/system32/drivers. 5. Reboot your box. 6. Install the version of WinPcap you wish to use. David Barnish -----Original Message----- From: Mike Klick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, March 10, 2003 11:05 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [WinPcap-users] Problem uninstalling Winpcap. I originally used Winpcap beta. I uninstalled it and put in Winpcap 2.3. Never seems to get packets in promiscuous mode. I tried uninstalling 2.3 and it says: "Installation Log File Not Found!" I noticed in the registry the path to NPF.SYS had "\??\" before it and NPF did not show up in driver list. I fixed that. Now it shows up but windump -D show "1." as network adapter. My installation is goofed up. How do I manually uninstall winpcap completely? I am using Windows 2000 Professional.
