[WinPcap-users] OS dependency

Hi, I am building a platform independent NAT (Network Address Translator) therefore i was interested in using wpcap as i thought it is OS independent but by reading FAQ's i got somewhat confused about its OS independency as it is written there that it will run only on Win32 . Can u please tell me how can i write code that will compile on UNIX as well as on Windows without or with minimum alterations. Thank you.
