It’s hard to choose just one but my favorite Jerald memory from the last reunion is of him in the Great Room on the morning of our “Midsummer" performance, happily offering to iron costumes for any and all who needed a bit of help. It was much appreciated by those of us who were a bit less centered at that moment. I see him at the ironing board, calmly and lovingly ironing a shirt, and wearing that big pink Thisbe dress. (Okay maybe he wasn’t wearing the pink dress, but it sure completes the scene.)
I knew then we were going to have a great performance that afternoon. It was like seeing Vince Young buckle his helmet strap on the sidelines.
