Not sure I could overstate how much the meals at Lauderdale House nourished the 
entire Winedale experience.
They were always more abundant and wonderful than I had a right to expect, and 
it was obvious that
Angeline was doing everything she could to keep surprising us. These were truly 
gestures of love. 

They also gave me a precious opportunity to experience a piece of Texas 
culture. I grew up in suburban Houston. 
Geographically it was Texas, but it could have been anywhere else in the US in 
many respects.

Hard to believe that the meals I had the good fortune to experience took place 
almost 50 years ago. Time’s swift arrow, indeed.
