Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I've moved the Manchester wikimeet page to
meta; it's now at:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meetup/Manchester
Please sign up if you're interested in coming along to these meetups. :-)

I have two answers to this. First, that I doubt those that are not interested
in some way in Wikimedia would come along to a Wikimeet. Second, that I would
hope that those already at the wikimeet could convince the uninitiated that
Wikimedia is interesting. ;-)

Definitely - the more diverse and widespread the advertising of a wikimeet, the
better. The problem tends to be identifying the wikimedians in the particular
geographical area, given how widespread and anonymous Wikimedians tend to be...

There are currently 186 people subscribed to this list, compared with ~180 WMUK
members. I doubt that there will be a one-to-one correspondence, though -
although I would hope that everyone subscribed to this list would be interested
in joining WMUK (and if you're not already a member, I'd love to hear why
not...).

Thanks,
Mike
