Hi folks, In case you hadn't heard, or forgot, BAWUG is hosting Wikigamejam SF ( https://wikigamejam.org/sf-2026/) next weekend, *Friday Mar 13 - Sunday Mar 15*. We have the venue, we have the food, we have the sponsors (include a grant from WMF) and speakers and we have the hackathon participants! But to make this event go really well, *it would be awesome if some of you all could sign up for volunteer slots.*
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1d-NgsUZxt9UxdkNzNh7Pob2w-9bO-E4VjZl0biingc4/edit?usp=sharing We're trying to build things that are fun, educational, or just plain weird. And there are some ideas of how to build wikigames that escape from the quiz/trivia mould (wikiracing is already being recognized by GamesRadar as a full-fledged subgenre!). It's a full weekend, and there are many opportunities to volunteer where you could also be a part of the hackathon, including just speaking your mind for 1-3 minutes in the "Game Jam Open Mic" on Friday night. If you'd like to help, please *sign up in the spreadsheet above!* And if you have ideas on how you could help beyond what's listed, I'd love to discuss. Just email me back directly. Thanks, -Travis BAWUG co-organizer (secretary)
