As we celebrate *International Women's Month*, we are excited to invite you
to the official launch of the *second edition of the Shine Her Light
Writing Contest

initiative by *Open Foundation West Africa
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Open_Foundation_West_Africa>* to amplify
the voices and achievements of African women on Wikipedia.

This year, under the theme *"Women Leading Change: Stories of Strength and
Progress,"* we are spotlighting the remarkable contributions of African
women across various sectors. Through this contest, we aim to bridge the
gender gap in online knowledge by creating and expanding articles about
inspiring African women.

The contest begins on *March 8, 2025,* and ends on *March 31, 2025*. To
mark the launch of this exciting journey, we are hosting a *webinar.* In
celebration of International Women's Day and in line with our commitment to
advancing gender equity, we invite you to join us for a special panel
discussion on *March 5th at 15:00 GMT*. During the webinar, you will hear
from guest speakers, learn more about the contest guidelines, and discover
how you can participate and make an impact.
