With all respect, the lack of maintenance effort on mediawiki file backends is creating an undue burden on volunteers with shell to complete these types of tasks."
It is a shame that an organization with a 100+ M US$ budget can't have staff to process such simple tasks in a reasonable time. When will the upper management in WMF wake up, and allocate resources properly?
