Dear Community Members,
As you might be already aware, the Deoband Community Wikimedia has been
organizing monthly open conversation hours for some time. Since March
2023, we have brought many expert speakers to learn from and continue to
bring several important issues to the table through our speakers.
Subject to the developments in our operational model, we have some new
updates to share. We are hopeful that you'll welcome these updates.
Unlike previous editions, registration for the upcoming editions of DCW
Conversation Hour is now mandatory. For wider outreach and
documentation, we will use the Event Registration Tool on Meta-Wiki
alongside regular event pages on our website.
We have also curated a dedicated Telegram group to support the
development of the Conversation Hour. We believe this will help ensure a
smooth experience for all of our participants and help us efficiently
prepare for future editions. Post-registration, you should receive the
Telegram group's link in the confirmation email.
Meanwhile, our next conversation hour is scheduled for 25 November 2024,
with Matthew Vetter from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania as the
guest speaker. In this edition, we look forward to exploring "Wikipedia
and AI: Ethical Boundaries in LLM Training". You may register for the
conversation hour from the following link:

Feel free to share this update with your networks, and don't hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Ariba
