“It’s bad news for local newspapers, with reports that they have reached their lowest numbers since the 18th century. How will historians study the provincial past when they can’t read all about it?” My reason for sharing that hyperlink and for writing on these topics is that I hope that some ideas, e.g., (1) an ad-revenue-driven Wikinews model which compensates journalists, and (2) a Wikinews homepage which includes personalized local news for users, might be considered.
