I tend to agree with Brian. I'm not sure spamming people to create articles is a reasonable approach. I'm also not sure how it's appropriate to opt users in to an experiment without their consent. Like Filip, I was confused why I received an e-mail in French. I actually figured it had something to do with imported edits, but I hadn't investigated what the e-mail was about.
