Are you ready to join the biggest celebration of free knowledge in the
world? Do you want to learn or enhance skills and contribute to the
Wikimedia projects? If yes, then you should not miss the Wikimedia Basic
workshops at Wikimania 2023, Suntec Singapore Convention Centre!
The Wikimedia Basic workshops are designed for beginners who want to get
started with editing and contributing content on the Wikimedia platforms.
They will cover the basics of:

- *Wikidata*: the free and open knowledge base that anyone can edit.
Learn how to create and edit items, add statements and sources, and use
tools and queries.

- 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM local time : Basics & Query Workshop
- 2:15 PM to 4:30 PM local time : Open Data, Lexemes, Wikibase
- 4:45 PM to 7:00 PM : Open Knowledge Foundation workshops

- *Wiktionary*: the free dictionary that anyone can edit. Learn how to
create and edit entries, add definitions and translations, and use tools
and formats. Alternatively as WikiKata Bulan Bahasa.

- 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Editathon

- *Wikisource*: the free library of source texts that anyone can
improve. Learn how to transcribe and proofread texts, add metadata and
annotations, and use tools and templates.

- 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM : Digitization Workshop by Open Knowledge
Foundation
- 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM : Wikisource Basics

- *Wikipedia*: the free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Learn
how to create and improve articles, add references and images, and avoid
common mistakes.
- Wednesday, August 16 at Room 310 from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM local
time

- *Wikimedia Commons*: the free media repository that anyone can
contribute to. Learn how to upload and categorize files, add descriptions
and licenses, and use media on other projects.
- Wednesday, August 16 at Room 310 from 2:15 PM to 4:30 PM local time
They will be led by experienced Wikimedians who will guide you through the
basics and answer your questions.
To register for the workshops, you just need to be registered for Wikimania
2023 first. Seats are limited.
