Hi,

It's definitely not for all travellers. At least that's the case in Sri Lanka.

Per above, it's only for "high-risk" travellers.

Subject: Re: [Wikimania-l] [Wikimediaindia-l] From November, Indians to pay
Rs. 2.7 lakh bond for UK Visa - Concern for Wikimania 2014

Hello Arnav,
that was the first shocking news I had heard. But I believe that UK Visa bond
is only applicable if you wanna stay there for more than 6 months!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I understood from many news article.

Hey all,

FYI

India is among the six nations that will have to pay £3,000 as fee from
November 2013 to enter Britain.

The
scheme will be applicable to visitors from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh,
Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Ghana. The fee of Rs 2.7 lakhs (at the present
exchange rate of Rs 90 for a pound) will be over and above all visa
costs.

Meanwhile, see you all in Hong Kong ;-)
