I have had occasional issues with connections being dropped to my WLIP. Never been able to figure out why (it’s extremely inconsistent. Sometimes it’ll happen multiple times a week, but recently it’s been well over a month since an issue). Nothing else talks to it. I ended up installing the heathchecks.io weewx extension (https://github.com/uajqq/weewx-healthchecks ) so I get alerted if weewx has been dead for 4 hours so I know to restart things.

Sadly the WLIP itself has no real logging to determine if it had an issue.

Oh, one thing of note: don’t have batteries in the receiver when using the WLIP. Think I saw that somewhere. Guess if the power to it goes out, you want it to actually shut off rather than try to run off the batteries.

Weewx needs an exclusive network connection  to a Davis IP datalogger.  You need to verify that no other softwtare is trying to communicate with the datalogger.

Another point : by default, the datalogger is set to send periodically its data to weatherlink.com, and that can cause conncetion conflict withs weewx.
Connect to your datalogger with your browser   : http://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd    where aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is the ip addresse of the IP datalogger and verify that the upload to weatherlink.com is disabled - see attached image.

Then, from nowhere, it starts working and downloads all the historical data since the last record that was added to the database:

Has anyone experienced this kind of intermittent <ACK> issue with WeatherLinkIP? Any suggestions on how to stabilize the connection?
