Probably not what you want to hear, but I have no explanation for the difference. It's not something I've ever observed on any of my 3 VPro2 stations.
The only thing I can think of is to reset your console. Take out the batteries, unplug, wait a minute, then reassemble. I should add that I'm assuming you have a standard setup.
