In general, you should modify the main, archive database, then use the tool
wee_database <http://www.weewx.com/docs/utilities.htm#wee_database_utility>
to rebuild the daily summary. Don't try to edit the summary directly. See
the wiki article *Cleaning up old 'bad' data
<https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/Cleaning-up-old-'bad'-data>*.

But, if you're curious what sum and wsum represent, see the section on *Daily
Summaries* <http://www.weewx.com/docs/devnotes.htm#Daily_summaries> in the
Developer's Notes.
