What do you mean by you merged "the old database with the new one"? There is no difference between the wview and weewx databases. You should be able to just copy over the old database to the weewx installation. Did you read the section *Compatibility with wview <http://www.weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#wview_compatibility>* in the User's Guide?
