To give you a little more background: First, the weather station was connected to a Raspberry Pi 3, now I moved to a vm on my unraid host. On the Raspberry Pi, which has now nothing to do, I switched from Fineoffset USB to Simulator to make it sort of test instance for weewx. On this Pi, the behaviour reported above occurs.
