Out of the blue, my station stopped updating. No biggy - there were some
power failures and a reboot usually fixes that. Not this time. I had weewx
on a virtualbox client running Centos7, host also running Centos7. Host
messages says pl2303 is up. Start vbox client, pl2303 immediately
disconnects - even before the client OS begins loading. I suspect something
with vbox, so I install weewx directly on the host. Messages says pl2303 is
connected, but when I start weewx it says that it cannot load driver - like
it can't see what's on the end of the pl2303. My question - how can I
determine if my problem is with pl2303 or (shudder) if my data logger has
packed it in? I've tried putty to the com port using a windows box, but I
don't get any echo on the screen even though the device looks fine in
device manager.
