I'm a little confused about the idea of 'LOOP' as it related to the MQTT extension.
I'm particularly interested in windGust, as I just remounted my Davis VP2 to get the anemometer up to 18 feet in elevation, so I'm finally seeing lots of high gusts now that the sensor isn't blocked by surroundings. - if I subscribe to the archive topic weather/windGust to me that's going to be the high gust during the 5-minute archive period - if I subscribe to weather/loop and pulled the windGust value from that, is windGust an instantaneous 'current windGust' ? - or is it more along the lines of a reconstructed pseudo LOOP packet also with the 5-minute high value for windGust ? Where I'm a little confused is the timing of things: - Davis LOOP is every 2 seconds as received at the console - but weewx extensions run at the archive interval (for me 5 minutes) - so what time period is a weather/loop published set of data including ? (fyi - the telescoping pole I got was https://www.harborfreight.com/20-ft-telescoping-flag-pole-62285.html which was $45 after coupon. Super easy to put up, but you definitely don't want to put any significant weight at the top. I can't imagine how much that would bounce if you had an actual flag on it. Fine with the VP2 anemometer which doesn't weigh much.) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "weewx-user" group.
