The message below came back. I have not yet fully committed to libreoffice because of the problem stated. The librecalc works well enuff but I will probably have to go to other software to plot the results of calculations.

To whom it may concern,

I have spent hours trying to comprehend libre's system of drawing a graph. It appears to copy Excel's system that has baffled me for >30 years. How unfortunate!

I want to draw a graph using a column of numbers (independent variable) as abscissa and another column (not adjacent) as ordinate. Simple, right?  I can't figure how to do it with your system.

BTW, why is it necessary to include the sheet letter in the address when the data and the graph are on the same sheet?
