[web2py] pyFpdf supports gif images?

The documentation for pyFpdf indicates support for gif images, yet there 
does not seem to be any hooks for gif in the FPDF class.

pyFpdf seems to be a nice way to create reports, but my project requires 
gif images with transparency....
