Well, if you are using Google Chrome, it will offer to translate sites that are in a language that you don't understand. That works well enough for most websites.
I don't bother to offer a "translate this site to your language" because if they want to do that, they can. If you care about people reading your pages and you want a translation, you should translate it yourself instead of saying "well this is good enough, i guess" and giving them that tool. Web2py makes it easy - put all your strings in those T() blocks, and then modify the language specific files. It really makes no sense to add that because google isn't going to index your website in another language because you have that translator tool added.
