I believe that any time the database connection string is changed then the hash in front of the .table file names changes in the databases directory. I noticed this just trying to change the database password because I wanted it different at another physical location of the application I work on. However all the tables in the database still exist from the original driver. The fake_migrate option should help when the tables in the database already exist but the .table files in the databases directory don't.
